W(h)ole Space / DIATRETON. 1996.

Permanent space alteration. New York.

A dark one bedroom apartment in the center of New York is transformed into a quiet retreat by drawing on recollections of the distinct sounds and colors from the summer landscape of the East End of Long Island.

The choice of materials, the process of the work, as well as the fabrication of Art, architectural fittings and furniture were all conceived as part of the overall concept of the project which was completed in 1996 as a “Total Work of Art” (Gesamtkunstwerk).
