Unique storage cabinet.

In a remodeled kitchen of a 1906 Villa on the outskirts of Vienna, a partitioning wall designed as a bold architectural element provides for a much needed storage space.

Fabricated from dark stained cement board, industrial diamond security glass and Greek Thassos marble, the “wall” is concealing a double sided deep cabinet which functions as a pantry when accessed from the kitchen area and as a glass display cabinet from the front side facing the dining room.

The choice of materials, color and proportions pays homage to Josef Hoffmann and the Wiener-Werkstätte movement which characterizes turn of the century Viennese design in reference to the date in which the house was built.

Cement board, industrial wired glass, graphite, Thassos marble, gold and silver leaf.
