(Inaccessible space)

Indoor-outdoor installation.

An installation of three “knots” where sound is used as an instrument through which temporal frequency patterns can become formal, spatial and geometric ones.

Het Apollohuis is a project space in Eindhoven, Holland, devoted to Experimental Art mostly in the field of contemporary music.
Using elements found in the building and altering the sensory experience from auditory to visual, the installation aims to focus the attention of the visitor on the architectural character of the space.
The visitor anticipating the customary musical performance, is confronted by an inaccessible auditorium, its 36 chairs close-packed to a silent “spatial” octave. Painted black, a never before noticed wall protrusion “drums” its way to the center of the large exhibition room. The outdoor courtyard usually reserved for the garden reception is now lined with fragile glass tiles forbidding any further access. One is forced to back up, stand still and listen to the silence between the (K)not(e)s.
